Learn about Cindy Manor's life and career-altering journey when she had to learn how to help her teen son recover from a major injury. Learn about the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre, a community-based treatment centre that is dedicated to helping youth (13-21) and their families across Ontario overcome substance use and mental health issues and achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Cindy has more than 20 years’ experience in Publishing, Marketing, Advertising, Relationship Management and Finance. She started her career in media at The Ottawa Citizen (Postmedia), and then moved to the Ottawa Jewish Bulletin and Torstar/Metroland Media where she learned the newspaper business from the ground up (Switchboard Operator to General Manager).
Cindy is a proud mother of three young men Hunter, Keagan and Carson. Cindy is a huge supporter of the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre (DSYTC) as she credits the centre and program for saving her son's life.
Since 2015, she has spoken openly about her journey of addiction and mental health issues with her son. She wants nothing more than to drop the shame and stigma around youth mental health and addiction; to give families “hope” through such a difficult time. Moreover, to bring our three aging campuses together to increase our capacity and lessen wait times for Ontario’s youth that are in crisis.
